Tribute to Ma’Winnie Madikizela Mandela

A painful yesterday couldn’t fade your smile, from a caterpillar trapped in a cocoon of chains, you flourished into a butterfly spreading hope whilst unapologetic of your being.

As you rest for eternity, you’ve awoken a nation of heroines with they fist pumped into the sky.

I suppose your legacy is that of Phoenix because they’ve spat on your face, dragged and kicked you while burning and crushing you, yet you didn’t die instead you’ve resurrected stronger than ever into the hearts of millions.

Dear Mama, you’ve been winning all along and Imizamo yakho will never be forgotten.
