Coffee Dreams

Nothing compares to a freshly brewed cup of coffee while watching the African sunrise, it awakens your senses and prepares you for the day ahead

Coffee can bring people together whether it’s for business or leisure. Many coffee invitations have resulted in strangers becoming friends while others found their soul mates.

For decades, coffee has been a daily ritual and a much-needed caffeine boost for most of us, and over the years it has developed from just ground and instant coffee into more options such as decaffeinated coffee.

Which comes in different varieties and flavors. The coffee industry is booming with a lot of different brands to chose from, however, how often do you find a local brand, created by young, black individuals.

There’s no greater joy than to build a legacy from something you enjoy, creating a coffee brand wasn’t planned yet it developed from Karabo being an avid coffee lover and Katlego his childhood friend suggested he turned his love for coffee into a business.

Sometimes it takes a special person to see past the obstacles and make you realize the possibility of an idea.

The creators

Karabo and Katlego have been friends since childhood, karabo has always loved and consumed a lot of coffee he would often show interest by drinking different types of coffees available on the market.

Karabego

This sparked an idea for Katlego to encourage him to start a coffee business venture, at that time Karabo didn’t see the picture so Katlego did the research and eventually this lead to the birth of Karabego which is a combination of both they names.

They raised money for this venture by selling graphic works, knitwear amongst other things. The capital for this project was solely from their own pockets.

At the moment Karabego is outsourcing the production of the coffee, however they are involved in the final production such as the types of coffee beans used, the tasting and packaging of their product.

I truly believe that with growth they’ll expand globally.

Careful consideration was taken in the design of the packaging, the patterns are inspired by the geometric Ndebele patterns which Karabo designed.

Conclusion

Their instant coffee is of the finest quality and it’s only a pleasure to support a black-owned brand that understands and caters to a unique consumer.
